Anti - Anxiety Pills
The most commonly prescribed dental related drug to treat anxiety, belongs to the “benzodiazepine” family. This family of meds is umbrella for drugs such as; Valium, Halcion, Xanax, or Ativan. These drugs decrease anxiety by binding and toning down activity within “fear” receptors in the brain to help patient relax during treatment. Dose administered is a relatively conservative amount.
